Katie Day before Day 1 :)

Hello Ladies!
Thanks Heidi for joining me!  I was going to skip tonight cause Im tired but I know that if I skip tonight than it will be easier to skip tomorrow and the next day and so on, therefore I am posting today!  I didn't really start my diet today and I didn't really count my calories completely since today was a prep day, but because I know that tomorrow is coming, I did make wise decisions.  Tonight for YW we made 108 dozen chocolate chip cookies (for our camp fundraiser)  The dough looked so yummy and I am proud to announce that I didn''t snitch any of it!  I wanted homemade chocolate chip cookies soooo badly when I got home!! I told Dan that I really needed a snack and we have Nutella to Go sticks in the kitchen for the kiddos amd thats what I really wanted.  However I opted for some dried fruit instead and now I am going to bed with a satisfied tummy and a glass of water!
I will blog and post my calorie count and everything tomorrow!
Until then .. Happy Diet Preping :)

I'm in! Heidi- Day 1, Take 2

I'm with you Katie. I've been in a slump ever since dislocating my shoulder and it's been difficult fighting my way forward. I feel like I've been taking two or three steps back for every one step forward. I gained back up to 226, but fortunately with some exercise, eating better and fasting on Sunday I'm back down to 220, which is where I was when I stopped blogging.

Today I feel great. I got some quality time in at the gym last night while Jason watched the girls. 10 minutes on the hydromassage table, 25 minutes on the stationary bike, 30 minutes stretching, and another 10 minute hydromassage.

I had to go with a quick breakfast of cottage cheese and an apple since Annibelle got into the suncreen and applied it liberally to herself, the carpet, bed, and closet... still need to clean the carpet, bed,and closet...

I had a physical therapy appointment where I learned that my mobility has increased, got a new strength exercise added to my regimen, and the doctor stretched out my arm and shoulder for me. Feeling much more optimistic!

Then the true test of my willpower came- lunch at grandmas. (I've mentioned before how her place is a haven of temptation). I made a conscious decision to not have ANYTHING off-plan (since it's hard to stop with just one...) We gardened for a bit then I had tuna salad- not on a roll (or three), with a sliced tomato. And a cold bottle of water, no soda. I felt amazing! So proud. There was a close call when I gave Annibelle a donut hole, normally I would have grabbed a few for myself too. But I didn't :)

Avoided the Costco food court- Annibelle was sad to not get a hot dog and soda, but that's another weakness.

Afternoon snack is a recipe from the THM cookbook- salted caramel frappacino. Yummy and guilt free.

Dinner will be something chicken... and then I'm going to read in bed so I don't watch TV and eat fruit snacks, which is pretty much the only sweet snack in the house right now.

Back in the game!

Lets Begin Again!!

Hello Ladies,
Its been awhile since anyone has posted and tonight I was thinking its time to start this up again!  I must confess I am doing this for selfish reasons :)  I have a family reunion coming up in about a month and I still have about 10 lbs to loose.  Each day I start out being good but by midmorning the munchies take over and I stop counting calories and just eat whatever I want.  This past weekend we were visiting the Bay Area and the food there is soooo YUMMY so I ate whatever I wanted to and it was FANTASTIC.  Today I finished off my last piece of Banana cake (Shelley will understand the sadness of this) and although I am sad that the cake is gone, I am also relieved, cause I need to get back on track.  Whose with me?  It always helps when I have to fess up at the end of the day!  I may not loose the 10 lbs that I want to loose before my family reunion, but I know that if I behave myself tor the next month, then no matter what the scale says, I will be happy with myself because I will be in control of my appetites and not the other way around.  So again I ask who is with me?!

I figure that I will start on Thursday so that I can get to the store tomorrow and stock up my fridge and pantry with healthy food and snacks.  I hope that you guys will join me.  :)  I really do like the blogging and I enjoy the tips and meal ideas that eveyone comes up with!  I hope to see you on the blog on Thursday!!

I do realize that Thursday is Cinco De Mayo so it might be a tough one, but as long as I calorie count and behave during the day, then at night I will know where I stand and will know what I can eat.  Until then ... Happy Diet Prepping!

Heidi Day 33 Friday

Breakfast
8:00 am
1 package Belvita biscuits
10:30 am
THM shake- chocolate mint (accidentally added an extra drop of peppermint essential oil and boy was it minty!!!)

Lunch
1:00 pm
cucumber with salt
strawberry yogurt popsicle

Dinner
6:30
too many oven-baked chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce

Snack
I was craving something to munch on but nothing I had sounded good, so I tried a new recipe from the THM cookbook for a drink- Good Girl Moonshine, or GGMS. I made two batches of it and it filled up my tummy and cured the craving!

GGMS
1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar (with "mother")
1 teaspoon ginger juice
4 doonks stevia
(added a little tea to mix it up)
filled quart jar with ice, filled rest with herbal raspberry tea.

(my fist one I only used 1 tsp of ACV because I was scared to drink vinegar, but the second time I added the full TB and it made it tart and the flavors really pop)
